We knew from being here in December that the roads are fantastic. So we started late; woke up at 6:00 am and left by 7:30 am after waiting to get some toasts with tea at the hotel.
Drove 200 kms before the first break at CCD. I know, at this rate, I should buy CCD stock.!!
We drove another 250 kms before our lunch stop - highway king hotel. You can't miss this place - there are signs everywhere all the way 50 kms out!! We had a heavy Rajasthani thali for lunch; come on what else would we eat!!
After a brief halt for chai we were in Karnal by 6:20 pm. 700 kms in under 11 hours; averaging 63 km/hr. Good speeds considering the traffic around Delhi bypass.
Things that stood out today - camels on the way, huge swathes of agricultural land, phenomenal roads esp in Haryana, huge toll roads, trucks galore, expensive cars in Haryana and we even saw a limo.
Kids are psyched and still in high spirits. They are hoping to see snow tomorrow in Jammu, which is our destination.
